As part of CPRG's "Future of Society" project, the #DataDaan programme advocates for a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering voluntary data sharing to support AI and ML innovation in India. Recognizing the need for high-quality local data for AI model training, this proposal seeks to enable researchers and start-ups to access relevant and contextually appropriate datasets.

The initiative suggests expanding the traditional definition of data to include not only quantitative datasets but also textual, audio, and video data. Data could be sourced from private individuals, organizations, and public institutions, ensuring that participants' privacy and interests are protected through a formal framework
